The THINK Skateboard Team showed up at Straight Skate, a little late (they got lost), and they were greeted in a grand manner - some guys had banners welcoming them. Had a super crowd on hand that packed the shop to overflowing and everybody was hyped up.
The signing was GREAT, the guys from the team could not have been any more better, actually they were FANTASTIC. They signed everything put before them; shirts, paper, shoes, decks, hats, stickers, whatever! They posed with anybody and everybody for personall pictures and anybody who wanted got a one-on-one with the guys. We cannot thank them enough.
And many thanks to everybody who was there - we hope you enjoyed and had fun.
Then it was off to Ingleside Skatepark. There it got a little off. After about an hour of skating there was a little dispute with the skatepark operators during the product toss. A long story made short, the team had to leave.
Overall it was a really-really great event, everybody had a great time and we are looking to have them back to when the Cropus Christi Skatepark opens this summer.

Ingleside PD shuts down skate demo
Pro team doesn't wear helmets, curses workers
By Rachel Denny Clow Caller-TimesDecember 22, 2005
INGLESIDE - A professional skateboard demonstration by Think Skateboard Team was canceled Wednesday after the skateboarders didn't wear helmets, threw free merchandise onto the roof of the Simmons City Skate Park office and swore at park personnel.
As part of a four-city tour in Texas, San Francisco-based Think Skateboard Team scheduled a skate demonstration at the Ingleside park after an autograph-signing at Straight Skate Skateboard Shop in Corpus Christi, said RoseAleta Laurell, community services director for the Ingleside Parks and Recreation Department.
Around 50 spectators fell on each other as they scrambled to retrieve free merchandise team members were throwing from atop a table. Park officials tried to get their attention and were sworn at. At that point, the Ingleside Police Department was called in to control the crowd and ask the team to leave. No arrests were made.
"We have never had a problem before," Laurell said. "We made it clear that they would have to wear helmets because it's the rule. This is not a good example to be setting for our youth. They don't need to be taught to act like that."
Many of the professional skateboarders didn't want to wear a helmet, because they don't wear helmets when they skate professionally, said Aquil Brathwait, a professional skateboarder with the team.
"We just wanted to set up a demo," said Jake Nunn, another member of the team. "They just wanted to control the kids."
